Daily Kos: NYT Lets the Truth about Oil Slip, for... →
Pick One… Three possibilities: 1. There is not enough oil left for the world to make a smooth transition to alternative forms of energy. Therefore, global conflict will occur over these limited resources. Many people will die. 2. There is just enough oil left for the world to make a smooth transition to alternative forms of energy. 3. There is too much oil left. There...
True story from my friend Dave: “so, yesterday, i get off work and i’m in the building parking lot about to put all my crap in my car and go running, when i hear all these brakes screeching and see the most cop cars i’ve ever seen before. they all stop in this intersection next to me. then i hear the sound of guns cocking and see about 40 cops running down the street with...
More Where That Came From
I just spent my tax refund on my credit card debt. That last sentence really says a lot about America in 2008. Thanks Taxpayers! p.s. Thanks to Chang Gang, you rock! p.p.s Thanks to Rosie, the first CultrVultr fan to do my laundry. Who’s next?

The reality of "1,000 true fans" →
Good article by Kevin Kelly on what actually happens when you try and live off 1,00 true fans.
Its wierd sitting here and rooting for Obama to lose, but only by a little bit. Also, I haven’t spent much time in PA, but its hard to believe that there are this many flat-earth Hillary believers left in what is an ostensibly Northern state. I wrote a long post about what I think this election means, but I think that the results speak for themselves.

Make sure you have your sound on for some sweet MIDI. This reminds me that SWNH just played “Your’re the Best Around” at our gig on Saturday. We were all dressed like martial artists and there was an accordion-fu fight that was pretty amazing. I’ll see if I can get some audio up soon. (via lonelysandwich)

Somebody found some pictures of a classic coke party in a flea market and put the photos on flickr. The original photos are no longer available, but some intrepid folks did a stunning recreation. I would love to see more recreation like this. p.s. does this count as “sweding?”
Music Rec
I don’t post about my world music obsession much, but since people are always asking me about ethiopian music after seeing Broken Flowers by Jim Jarmusch I will just say that Addismusic.com has been rocking my headphones all day long. Streaming music with a good mix of new pop and old classics.
